graduated in Germany from the "Hochschule für Künste" in Bremen as well as from the Musikhochschule Lübeck, where he was a
pupil of Gunther Pohl (Bamberg Symphoniker). Afterwards he received a Fulbright scholarship, completing his studies in the
United States of America with Brooks de Wetter-Smith (University of North Carolina). In addition, he has participated in
international master classes given by James Galway and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
As a soloist with orchestra as well as in various chamber music settings he has performed flute concertos, works for solo
flute, and chamber music throughout western and eastern Europe and North America. He has appeared with German orchestras as
diverse as the "Bremerhaven Symphony" and the "Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie Herford".
He directed seminars in flute interpretation at various American universities and has participated in several recordings
and radio broadcasts. The position of Principal Flutist he has held, since 1987, with the "Camerata Instrumentale Bremen"
and, since 2013, with the "Bremen Woodwind Quintet".
